The trip was perfectly organized, starting with a smooth coach ride from our hotel to the ferry, which took us to Nisyros, followed by another coach to the crater, and then the reverse journey -all running like clockwork and right on schedule. “Boat takes an hour each way from Karadmena Port. We had the coach transfer from our resort in Psalidi, and it took over 90 mins, as stopped at seemingly every resort on the Island. Boat was a small ferry type thing. Had about 2 hours to wander around Nisyros , which is pretty with a few cafes, restaurants and a tiny pebbly beach. We had lunch there. Some people went up to the Monastery; there was an additional charge for this (3.50 each i think). We didn't, and instead had a look round some (expensive) tourist souvenir shops.
